CR Gurus...Shillmac, Volcanogirl, and others!
Heyyyy Ladies...
All of you were correct, this has been a liberating experience and one that will be repeated hopefully in June of 2008.
I am writing from Poco a Poco in Monteverde and will leave from here to go back to Alajuela tomorrow morning.
So far, the Arenal area has most definitely captured my heart!! The Canon Negro tour, the stay at Lost Iguana, Hanging Bridges and most of all the Volcano were sooooo totally AWESOME!!! I did NOT want to leave!!!
Did the Jeep-boat-Jeep thing and loved it even the pothole ride to Monteverde!! I found myself keeping an eye on the Volcano the entire time. I honestly think I could just live in that area and be happy as they say back home...happy as a pig in slop! grin
Rain, rain, rain for the most part since the day after I landed in Monteverde but has stopped for now but still wayyyyy overcast. I have been quite content to hang out in the reception area at the Poco a Poco listening to music and just watching traffic roll by along with the drizzle which has started up again.
Gosh, all I can say is thank you ladies so much for all of your suggestions on where to stay and what to see.
I fly home on the 22nd back to Georgia with LOADS of pics to download. Of course, my little ole camera couldn{t get quite close enough to the critters!
Oh, and I{m typeing on a spanish keyboard and don{t have a clue where to find the punciation mark that I need for the contractions!!
As most Ticos say to me...Ciao! I think they spell it chao here!

Great to hear you are having a great time - the first of many trips to come. Isn't Arenal a beaut? Such a lovely area. Yes, aren't the keyboards a little hard to get used to?! Looking forward to hearing more....
