Hey Becky! We stayed at the Costa Vida this spring for 2 weeks. Very clean, nice pools, crappy beach if you would call it a beach. We go to PV every year for 3 weeks & stay at different places. We found the Costa Vida too far out of town and very very quiet. It is fine if you are over 55 years old! The restaurant was also extremely expensive & there are far too many cheaper places to eat in town to be paying those prices. Hope this answers some of your questions.

For Becky, Puerto Vallarta is pretty spread out... all around the Bay of Banderas. When you're down there I'd highly recommend catching a local bus or taxi and spend time to see El Centro (the old downtown), the Malecon (seawall promonade), and the area called "Old Town" or "south of the river". PV has SO much to offer alongside the many and varied resort properties. Fantastic local restaurants, great food, all kinds of shopping, lots of live music, etc.

I fell IN LOVE with the town my first trip & return as often as possible. I stay at various smaller hotels in Old Town.
