Costa Rico
Hello Fodors,
This is my first entry...I just joined. My family of 3, all adults, will be traveling to Costa Rico the first week of February 2019. We will be there 5 nights, last night in SJO. We are interested in Coffee Plantations first, as we own a coffee shop, beaches, jungle, sky walk.....etc. I am not sure of the area to stay in, what side of the Island, we are looking for airbnb's and will rent a car. Any help is appreciated..we know nothing!
Thank you for your help,
mitchdei

Costa Rica isn't an island; it's landlocked, but it does have coastline. There's a nice coffee plantation called the Doka Coffee Estate that you might like, very pretty, and they take you through the entire process and give you samples. We were there during harvest time and got to help pick the "cherries" as they called them. Other than that you probably only have time for one other location. If you want to be near the beach, the Manuel Antonio area is nice. For jungle and sky walk, go to the Arenal area. Those spots are very popular with first timers and are easy to get around with good infrastructure.
