HELLO!! I have been traveling around Costa Rica since almost 11 years ago. I can say you that Costa Rica is a really nice place. Rainy season is not a problem in all CR. Pacific Costa has not this problems,must of time is sunny and hot. Beautiful beaches are in this area. As many places Guanacaste has popular and agglomerated beaches however if you ask and search you will get beautiful and amazing beaches , clean water, clear land , nature and great experience. In the other hand, nature is really important in CR, places such a Monteverde, Arenal, La fortuna, Osa Peninsula and lot of National parks offer you a great experience with animals, flora and nature. Adventure in CR also is great; White water rafting , canopy , hiking and much more.
I have not been in Caribbean Islands but I think that Costa Rica is a top destination in the world.
