Costa Rica

My friend and I would like to travel to Costa Rica for 6 days. We are two girls in our thirties and would like to go to an area that is on or near the beach, and have restaurant/night life near by. We were thinking the Tamarindo area, but I we would love to hear your suggestions.

Thank you,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I'm a local costa rican and would like to share my two cents. Tamarindo is a great place to stay! Nice hotels (for all kinds of budgets), good restaurants and night life! You can take tours or a cab to other nearby beaches (Flamingo and Conchal beaches are white sanded and beautiful). Another nice area is the Central Pacific (Manuel Antonio National Park and Jaco beach). If possible, take a tour to the Arenal Volcano... The volcano itself is impressive and the area is beautiful too. There's lots of things to do too: you can go zip lining through the rain forest, walk to a waterfall, atv tours, white water rafting, hanging bridges, etc...
If you would like more advice just let me know!

The Manuel Antonio area is nice. Lots of hotel and restaurant choices and a beautiful beach inside the park, lots of fairly tame wildlife around. Check out Si Como No, Tulemar Bungalows, and Mango Moon to give you an idea of the area. With that many days, you might want to try to see another area like ofsoto suggested.
