CHILE / TRAVEL ADVENTURE GUIDANCE

CHILE is an open paradise. Fascinating mysteries of its topography, joined to creative efforts of its people, open out generously to receive the traveller. Located at the end of the southern hemisphere, CHILE is a long and narrow territory extending from parallel 18 S to 56 S. No other country is as long and as narrow, having only 140 km average width. The lenght of CHILE is equal to the distance between Lisbon and Moscow. CHILE has climates, contours and landscapes that are difficult to imagine, joined in one same territory, at a few kilometers distance.

Solitude of the northern desert (the most arid of the world), enormous oceanic expanses including Easter Island and Robinson Crusoe Island, green delicacies of its central valleys (famous fruits and vineyards) and southern magnificent landscapes (Lakes District, Chiloe Archipelago, Austral Way, Patagonia and Antartic) form part of the natural spectacle still unknown by the majority. From North to South, Chile is an authentic reserve that guards values from Lauca National Park to the monumental architecture of Antartic glaciers.

An unforgettable experience for those who wish to explore and discover it through multiple adventures: fishing expeditions (flyfishing paradise), kayak excursions, rafting, horse riding, maritime cruises, lakes and rivers navigation, trekking, mountain climbing, canyoning, 4WD adventures, mountain biking and expeditions to Antarctica.

An impressive number of excursions are always available all the year. For specific information, I can help you.

Dear Rodrigo:

My fiance and I are planning a week trip to Chile from Sao Paulo. We are primarily interested in driving around the wine country and just enjoying the countryside, good food and scenery. Any suggestions?

Dear Rodrigo: This will be a return visit to beautiful Chile. We will be there for a month, late October to late November.Would like to spend several days in Chiloe - will have a rental car, so would be interested in your suggestions. Are you actually in Quielen? If we had 5-6 overnights in Chiloe, which places (2-3) would you suggest as reasonable-priced, comfortable? Interested in a comfirmed reservation at Hosteria Pehoe in Torres del Paine - any guidance on that? Also,Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, getting around Tierra del Fuego. Thank you.

We stayed in a fabulous little place in chiloe last year run by the loveliest Chilean couple who are also well travelled. They have built their dream home - wooden house overlooking the sea which they are now running as a guesthouse. They will show you round Chiloe, introduce you to the locals, and cook you heavenly Italian food. You can read our detailed review and pics at

www.i-escape.com/puertonativo.php
