Cancun in the summer

Does anyone know how Cancun is during the Jun-Aug timeframe? I know it's very popular in the Nov-Apr. timeframe, but is it just too hot, rainy, mosquitoy during the other months? Also, how crowded would it be, if at all?

2M, I spent 10 days in Cancun last August, I arrived 2 days after a major storm/hurracaine left the area and I had 10 days of the clearest best weather ever. It was hot but nice. The town was populated but Im sure not as much as spring break, it was good for me.

If you go on-line at The Weather Channel it will give you a breakdown of the average temperature and average amount of rainy days by month in Cancun. We've been in July and May in the past. July was hotter. But we had almost no rain when we were there in July. There wasn't a problem with mosquitos. Cancun is always relatively crowded. Just avoid spring break in March-April. And avoid Memorial Day weekend and the end of the school year.

We were told by one of the Mexican people that in that area inland, the temp can reach 120 in the summertime.

Maybe the beach temp drops to a cool 110. I wouldn't consider it if I were you. I caught a bad cold in April because of the heat and cold (ac) there.

Depends on what you are used to. Coming from Texas, I think it's hot, but not unbearable, from June-August. I do try to avoid too much activity in the heat of the day _ the mayan sites, for instance, you might want to visit very early in the day, then do water stuff the rest of the time. We've been several times during the summer and have no problem with the heat, and lucky with the rain. Officially, I think it's hurricane season, but the worst ones seem to hit more often in september, october.
