Camera & Accessories
I have a camera and phone that I am bringing to costa rica. I want to take alot of pictures. However, because it rains alot, and I am ziplining, and going snorkeling, what kinds of accessories for my camera and smartphone should I purchase. Also do I need binoculars as well?

I have a waterproof case with a shoulder strap because you never know when it will start pouring rain. I also put those little dessicant (sp?) packages in my case to help absorb all the moisture/humidity in the air. We have a waterproof camera for snorkeling; they make disposable ones that can go underwater and also make waterproof cases for the iPhone. Just depends on which you prefer.

I recommend bring binoculars in addition to your camera. When you are in the rainforest, wildlife and birds can be quite high in the tree canopy. You'll find they can be too far for most zoom lenses, but good viewing with a decent set of binocs.

I definitely agree. We forgot ours on one trip and had a hard time seeing things until the lodge offered to loan us pair. Your guides will have them, but it's much better to have your own pair so you don't have to wait to see what they're pointing at.

I bought it at REI, the brand was Sea to Summit.
They make a lot of different waterproof gear beside the dry sacks. A few people on the Galapagos cruise had the smartphone case.
