Cahel Pecz Resort

Does anyone have information on this resort? I am trying to book a reservation and having a little trouble and beginning to have second thougths. Also is it hard to make in country flight arrangements? I want to be sure that I can get where I'm going before I book my hotels.

Are you talking about Cahal Pech Village? It's not deluxe, but it's an okay mid-level place on a hill near town.

No air service to San Ignacio now. The two local airlines, Maya Island and Tropic Air, have good web sites where you can make reservations for other destinations in the country and also to Flores, Guatemala.

duPlooys certainly, along with Chaa Creek, Blancaneaux Lodge, Hidden Valley Inn and others. In town and not far from Cahal Pech, San Ignacio Hotel with a pool.

Cahal Pech is modest...mostly students'. In town, I recommend San Ignacio Hotel. We stayed there last summer in a budget room for only $50. Out of town, the best place in the area is parrot's nest. Check their website.

We loved Macal River Jungle Camp; check out www.belizecamp.com if you want a wonderful jungle setting with great food. It's part of Chaa Creek and allows access to the offerings there without the manicure which doesn't appeal to us.
