Buenos Aires, Punta del Este Travelogue

Hello -

Long-time lurker, occasional poster (solo woman traveler) here.

I have uploaded my trip report on Buenos Aires and Punta del Este, including photos, advice, and my mishaps, here:

www.travelmusings.net

Thank you to all who provided advice.

Hi Mitzi - I never provided you with any help at all for your trip but you have just provided me with the best laughs I've had all day!! -- also reminded me of my trip to BA last year at about this time. Didn't have HALF your nerve tho. GREAT report - hysterical, totally.

Thank you. Just perusing I bookmarked, and will go back for a more leisurely read when I'm not at work (or if today gets really boring).

I'm currently working on a trip to South America (including BsAs), and I'm glad to see all your stuff on the hotels and restaurants in and around Palermo.

Thanks again.

Come back soon and we'll set up for you a dinner you won't feel like bailing out of! Absolutely no beans guaranteed! ROTFLMAO!!!

P.S.: I understand the plural of "forum" is "fora". LOL!!

Wow, what a report. You're a great writer. Are you a professional?
I will soon be heading to BA, staying at the BoBo Hotel with plans to dine at Casa Saltshaker. We're staying in the POP room, it was all they had available.
Again, it was fun reading your reviews.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I enjoy my trips even more than before since I've started sharing them online. To answer the question above, I'm officially a marketer but if you know of someone seeking a travel writer...

Very, very funny! I really enjoyed reading your report. And I love how you took all of the clothes/shoes and ended up wearing the same thing over and over. That sounds like something I would do. And I guess I should feel sorry for you stepping in all the dog poo but I can't help but laugh about it. Thanks for sharing your trip here.

Loved the report! And loved the depiction of having been caught
by the principal for having gone
to another hotel!

Mitzyli

Enjoyed reading your stories and looking at the photos of your trip. It was fun to do.

I have to give Casa Felix a try when I return to BA.

Thanks again for sharing!

Hi mitzyli, I very much enjoyed your report and it is nice to hear about another solo woman traveller! I have vowed to take at least one solo trip a year for the rest of my life!

What was your general impression of Punta Bellana and Casa Pueblo? The architecture is definitely reminiscent of Gaudi but is the service that bad?

We (I must take my boyfriend on at least one of my trips per year although I arrive early in order to spend a few days solo in BA) are heading to Argentina, me for a month and my boyfriend for a little over 3 weeks.

I am intrigued by Uruguay and the fact that it is off the beaten path appeals to me. We (I, since I do all the planning!) have decided to spend 4 nights in Uruguay, renting a car and driving along the coast. I am considering staying for a night at Casa Pueblo.

Thanks for posting a report and I look forward to more details about your impressions.

Cheers!

Hi All --

Thank you for your comments.

Eurotraveller: My thoughts on PdE: Have a car at your disposal. Mid-March was too late to appreciate the flashy factor: go there in December, January, or February.

Re: Casapueblo: Yes, the service is bad, but I have little compassion for those people who griped about it. The building itself is a work of art (loved the twisted passageways) and you have a balconyy overlooking the ocean for a mere $100!
