BOBO or FIVE Hotel?? BA help!

I am looking to stay at the Bobo but a travel agent say the Five is newer and more trendy. Any advice or opinions that could help me decide? I am in my mid-30s and will be in BA for 5 days, interested in meeting other travelers, very adventurous tourist. Thanks!

Get a new travel agent imo.
Five is newer, but the rooms are small and the decor is not as nice as the Bobo. Now, if you really want something newer and nicer, try the Home Hotel (also in Palermo Soho/Viejo...and at least the equal of Bobo...and far, far superior to the Five)....

Thank you, AVROOSTER. I didn't realize the Regal Pacific was downtown. Once again you have provided the needed information.

You could not go wrong with either hotel, depending upon which location you need or desire. The Regal is a spectacular hotel, but it is downtown. The Home is more of a true botique hotel in a very trendy area. The Home was not open during my last trip, so I could not stay there....but I would not hesitate to do so. The management is very warm and responsive.....and I think they will soon gain such a following that it will be hard to get a reservation, so jump on it while you can....

Dr. Dawggy-what makes the Home Hotel so much more superior than the FIVE hotel or BOBO (I assume the location is the factor for Home vs. BOBO). Please help..they all have availability and the prices are similar and I can't decide!

I have no real preference for the Home over the Bobo, but both are superior to the Five. Five rooms are smaller and the furnishings are not as nice as either the Home or Bobo. The Bobo mid size rooms are very nice....I like the minimalist suite.

If I stayed at the Bobo I was thinking about the Minimalist suite as well! Funny coincidence. Overall do you think the Home or Bobo is best? My only concern is that Bobo is near the public transport that you say is loud and noisy. Thanks!

The public transportation hub that is near the Bobo is several blocks away, on Plaza Italia. A room on the back side of the Bobo should not pose a problem. The Home Hotel has a pool area and its location on Honduras is better than the location of the Bobo in my opinion....

We stayed at the Bobo for one night in February and thought it was great -- our room was the Minimalista and we liked using the deck outside for enjoying our bottle of Argentinian sparkling wine before a late dinner. Dinner at the hotel was good and the staff was lovely.

Yes, I agree. Forget Five, may be your travel agent gets more comission there. Choose Bobo or Home Hotel.

Five has more rooms and is probably more likely to work with a travel agent than is the Bobo, with less than 10 rooms.....I don't imagine the Bobo gives any sort of commission, since they are full most of the time anyway.

Great thread. Bobo is full the week I'm going. Both 5 and Home have room. Am thinking of hotel hopping during the week we have there starting at the Jousten, then to Home/5 for the weekend and ending with a splurge at Faena. Is there really that big of a difference between 5 and Home? Also, any suggestions other than NH Jousten?

1.Yes, there is a difference in Home and Five. Trust me and thank me later, after you have seen both.

2. Another downtown hotel option...Regal Pacific. Again, trust me. Visit both while you are in BsAs, and thank me for steering you in the right direction with two of your hotel hops.....

Enjoy Buenos Aires
