Blue Bay Papagayo Resort

Has anyone stayed at the Blue Bay Papagayo resort? We are considering this all-inclusive for our vacation next Feb.

Also, what are the recommended off resort excursions?

Where is this resort located? We stayed at Quito Papagayo in Ensenada & left after 1 night.

Here is a URL for Blue Bay home page:
http://www.bluebayresorts.com/papa/papahome.htm
Is this the resort you stayed at? Why did you leave?
From the home page for Blue Bay Village:

Twenty miles (25 minutes) northwest of Liberia's International Airport and 200 miles(4 hours) northwest of San Jose's Airport. An hour drive from the rain forest with nearby nature walks through national parks. Blue Bay Village Papagayo offers breathtaking views of Rincon de la Viejo volcano and majestic mountain range.

No, obvioulsy not the same resort. But thanks for the website address! How can they do all-inclusive for those prices!
Hope someone responds that has been there or if you go let us know how it was. It just sounds too good to be true for the money. Good Luck!

If it's the resort in Costa Rica I know of it.. the fact you can fly into Liberia is a definite plus...We stayed at the Melia Conchal and I understand that the beach is much better at the Blue Bay. Many of the trips are included at Blue Bay..wish I would have done the rafting trip and the visit to the turtles laying eggs on the beaches...Next time....

The hotel offers a number of different tours.
Canopy tours where you are on a cable high up in the trees and you go from tree to tree. It's alright if you don't mind heights,Arenal Volcano, Tabacon Hot Springs, Rafting down Corobici River, Rincon National Park, Palo Verde National Park, Inocentes Horseback Riding are just a few. I myself went on the horseback riding tour, canopy tour, Arenal volcano, Tabacon Hot Springs. If you want more info, let me know.We went on a couple of tours offered by the resort and then went with another couple with a guide that wasn't associated with the resort and paid less and saw more.
