It is sad that you had a bad experience, I think Costa Rica has a lot to offer and little by little more and more people have good stories to tell, In some cases and depending on what tour you wanted to do is better to simply find reviews about the tour company before booking. I always suggest to people that are coming to Costa Rica to book ahead of time, so they can find as much as possible about the companies that they will be dealing with.

Glad you made it to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens - did you get to do the waterfall hike and feed the hummingbirds? Sorry about your bad tour experience. I would love to read your trip report too.
