Arenal Hotel

Where is the best place to stay and view the volcano. Should we expect to see it in May? I've heard Tabacon Resort is excellent, but they are full on our dates. Can anyone recommed another hotel. Is El Tucano too far away?

Hi,

Tabacon is actually overrated...you're not even guaranteed a volcano view from your room!

Montana de Fuego and Arenal Paraiso are both nice, and offer excellent views.

Good luck!

rominacr is on the money. I stayed at Tabacon last week and the room in the 100 block of the place smelled like a sewer back up. The bed wasn't comfortable either. Montana de Fuego looks like it has great views.

Montana de Fuego and Arenal Paraiso are side by side, both offering excellent views. We liked Arenal Paraiso, and I believe the two to be quite comparable.

I just posted a reply to the thread entitled Arenal Lodge. You might want to read it.
