Ana y Jose Cabanas, Tulum
My sister and I will be travelling to Tulum the last week of January 2004 and have booked ourselves into the Ana y Jose Cabanas. Can anyone out there, who has stayed here, give me any specifics on the accomodations, beach, weather, food and what the rooms are like. We booked a standard, with double beds, garden view. Thanks for your help, and any suggestions as to what "extras" to bring.

Hi Maxina,
I stayed there 16 years ago and it was very different from when we visited it for my friend's wedding reception last April. I did not see the rooms, but the pool and restaurant were very nice. It was at night so I did not see the beach. I would suggest a flashlight.
Have a wonderful trip!

Hi Maxina, my husband and I stayed at Ana Y Jose last March and are returning there this March. We stayed in the beach front unit which is basically right on the beach. The resort is very clean all the rooms are very nice, I would recommend the ocean front rooms or rooms facing the pool these will give you a better breeze at night as there is no A/C. The pool, restaurant and grounds are very nice, The beach is gorgeous you can walk towards the north for about 45 minutes or walk south basically forever. The beaches were basically empty most of the time, topless was pretty regular we only came across complete nudity twice in 10 days as we were walking the beach. The food was very good at Ana Y Jose and its a short trip into town for other good restaurants that actually costless. If you have to have A/C the only place I am aware of is Los Lirios next door to Ana Y Jose. Any other questions I will be glad to help you out.
