we are interested in a day or two in rio during carnival time. then going to belem or manaus to take a cruise on the amazon. any suggestions on groups that do this type of trip concentrating on the wildlife and ecology of this area? our time frame would be february coinciding with carnival.

Im just curious on how are you only going to spend just 2 nights in Rio during Carnivale when most hotels want to book you for the full 5 days?

Nancy, you say your trip would be in February time frame coinciding with Carnival, well this year Carnival is March 4, 2003. So you may want to take that into consideration when you plan your 1 or 2 nights in Rio which is going to be very difficult to get as I said before because they want a commitment on the whole 5 day weekend. Good luck, sounds like you need to get back to the drawing board.

Thanks for the info. I mistakenly forgot to mention that we are interested in going in 2004. That is why I am just getting started getting info. We already have the air taken care of and what we are looking for are good land tours that would suit us. I will definitely look on the sites you menitoned. Thanks again.
