ZURICH soccer tickets, HELP !
We'll be in Switzerland during the last week of this month and would appreciate info on how and where to get soccer tickets in Zurich (if not, Lucerne/Basel).
I have googled it in English & German but couldn't find any info mainly because german soccer floods the pages. I can't even find the game schedule for March. Hilfe!

Dax,
Here's a link to the FC Zurich fixtures page on their official website;
http://www.fcz.ch/erste/tabelle/default.aspx
If you look at the bottom half of the page there appear to be games scheduled for March. Many football club websites allow for online ticket sales too, but I'm afraid my German is pretty much non-existent so I don't know if the FCZ site does.
One other site which might help;
http://www.football.ch/nl/start.asp?sp=2
This is the website of the Swiss National Football Association & if I've got the link right it will take you to a page listing all the major clubs. Hopefully this will allow you to link through to the other club websites in case Zurich doesn't work out for you.
Hope this helps,
Jim

JJBhoy,
It looks like I can buy tickets by phone or online Ticket Corner. Too bad there's no game in that entire last week in March probably because it's easter vacation. The other site is more for local teams including 9 & 14 year olds. Nevertheless THANKS! It's probably better to watch it the next time we go to Germany.

Dax,
I'm not sure that you're right about the second site I quoted. I recognise the names of quite a few of the major professional clubs who play in the Super League - in fact I've seen a few of them play over the years. This includes Young Boys Bern who, despite their name, are a senior professional club.
Anyway, leaving that aside I agree that a Bundesliga game in Germany would be a better option if you manage it. It would almost certainly be a higher standard of football with better, big name players & bigger, more vocal crowds too.

You're right. The site came out in French so I missed a lot of info but I finally found the button on the lower left for German! There are men's senior teams, ladies teams, junior teams within each club. Unfortunately none play btw March 21 and April 1.

Who would ever want to watch a football game in Zürich? It has been *years* since a game by either FC Zürich or Grasshoppers Zürich had been sold out ;-)
The reason for there being no championship games during the last week of March is that there are World Cup qualifying matches all over Europe from march 26 to march 30.
You can watch the Swiss national team take on Cyprus at the Hardturm stadium at Zürich on march 30 at 8:30 pm.
You may order tickets at www.ticketcorner.com (select "sports" and click on page 2).
Hope this helps, enjoy your trip

Thanks Phil
That's great news because we can then watch a better match on March 30. I know Switzerland is not the most ideal place to watch soccer. I'm really going for my daughter who really wants to see live soccer in Europe and Zurich is perfect because that's one place we'll have a lot of time. I probably should check if the French team has a game in the St.Denis Stadium because we'll be in Paris on March 26-28.

Get sombody with a good knowledge of French and check out this website:
http://partenaires.ticketnet.fr/shop...;IdManif=76583
It's the French Football federation's on-line booking office for March 26.
