Zurich hotel
Hi,
Looking for a hotel for one night in Zurich, right before we go to the airport. Would like something that's reasonably-priced (for Switzerland), easy to get to airport, and spend an evening around the lake or somewhere. Thank you.

Hi juliamjayne,
It would help us if you could give solid figures for your price preference, as everyone has different ideas of what is "reasonable."
If you don't mind being outside of the city, take a look at the 4-star Romantik Hotel Sonne (www.sonne.ch) in the suburb of Küsnacht. The hotel sits directly on the lake, and rooms will be about 100 chf cheaper than a lakefront room in the city. The hotel sits just across the street from the train station in Küsnacht; in fact, as you walk out of the underground tunnel that crosses the street, you'll be at the front door of the hotel. Direct trains will get you to the airport in about 20 minutes.
It's a lovely hotel with a garden bar/restaurant overlooking the lake.
Have fun as you plan!

Have you to take an early flight?
Zurich airport is linked by direct trains (every 30 min) to Winterthur, Frauenfeld, Weinfelden, Wil SG, Gossau, St. Gallen, Aarau, Olten, Solothurn, Bern, Lucerne ......
For hotel bargains, have a look at http://www.booking.com/, enter ZRH, a distance of some 70 km or so and surch by price.

Thank you. Our flight is at 10am. We will just have the one day in Zurich and one night. I was hoping to keep it at not more than 200 per night. I wasn't sure if Josef was convenient and easy to get to.

Well, if nothing else IN Zurich you can very easily take a taxi from any establishment to the main rail station for your quick train trip to the airport. This means just about any establishment in Zurich is "easy to get to."

It is a 10-minute walk from Zurich Bahnhof--which isn't that big--to Pension St. Josef.
You do have to walk up steps-- a walkway across from Starbucks-- to get to the hotel.
I have stayed at St.Josef twice. It is a very clean, quiet hotel. You can reach the lake by walking along the Limmat at Tram Square.
The Starbucks and Coop Market is also right there.
I have also stayed at the posh Baur au Lac and Dolder Grand.

> For the Pension St. Josef ... You do have to walk up steps
According to the hotel's website, there is a ramp alternative to the steps:
