Your Favorite Three Star Restaurant in Burgundy and Environs?
We will be in Paris in August and would like to take a side trip for a night and two days to one of the nearby regions and treat ourselves and two sons to one blow-out three star and overnight. Would be interested in opinions both from the standpoint of your favorite three star as well as opportunities for touring/vineyards/markets etc. in the region. Thanks!

Our favorite 3* in Burgundy remains Georges Blanc. Outstanding food, and the hotel and village are very pleasant. Not far away is the town of Bresses, where you can visit an awesome flamboyant Gothic cathedral., and you might also take in the beautifully preserved medieval village of Perouges.
Touring vineyards in France means primarily visiting tasting rooms, although we once drove right up into the Romanee-Conti vineyards just to salivate. The Chateau de Meursault is a good one to visit, and we also liked the Chateau de Savigny, near Beaune.
