PREMS fare are a great way to save moneys..However, you must be certain to take the train at the date and hour specified on the ticket, otherwise your saving would also be your loss.
Last September because of illness I had to cancel my flight for the first week of September and reschedule it again for the 21rst.
Meanwhile I bought 2 sets ofPREMs tickets from Paris to Avignon, and Avignon to Nice.My G.Daughter traveled with me..
Of course I had to change all my travels dates and by doing that my PREMs fares were a complete loss..
Usually I am always lucky but that time I lost moneys by buying them in advance.

> Last time I bought Prem tickets on-line it was for Germany Karlsruhe to Paris, but I believe I checked "France". However, the only two options I was given were 1) mail to me - which everyone counsels against it seems or 2) pick up at a SNCF boutique. ...
I believe you don't get print option when it involves international route (Germany - France or Italy - France, etc). Within France you should get print option as long as it's a Prem's ticket.
