Wine tasting from Florence

I will be in Florence for 3 nights this May while backpacking through Europe solo and I was hoping to be able to see a winery or two in the tuscany region surrounding Florence. I won't be renting a car and my budget is very limited so I wouldn't want to join a formal tour so I was wondering if anyone knows how to use the public transportation to get to any wineries with available wine tasting. Any recomendations for specific wineries would be appreciated as well.

I'm going on a family trip in april and am in a similar situation. I've heard that for daytrips siena or lucca are good and not too far, but I was going to ask more from tourist info when I'm there.

Hi G,

Do you want to visit a winery or try wines?

If the latter, any enoteca will do.

Enoteca Italiana
Bastione San Francesco, located within the Fortezza Medicea has often been recommended.

IMO the best and shortest way to search and find winery for wine tasting in Tuscany is to visit this website: www.florencewine.it
It will help you, I am sure !
By the way, you should know that on next March from 15 to 17 in Florence at Stazione Leopolda, there is TASTE an event who enables the visitors to know more about Tuscany typical food and wine.
If you are in Florence in those days, do not miss it.

Ciao.

Vincenzo
