Wine on a picnic in Paris?

I assume the drinking laws in France would not preclude bringing a bottle of wine to a picnic in a Paris park (Champs De Mar, etc.)?

I am almost certain this would be okay, but want to be sure before we leave for Paris in early September. We are hoping the weather will be nice and we will be able to enjoy a number of lunches outdoors.

Thanks.

Yup. Been there, done that. Had a great picnic with wine in Luxenburg(?) gardens.

I think you'll find that it's practically compulsory

Do that every time we go there. There's a small park at the end of St-Louis island (where Notre-Dame is) called "Vert Galant". We go there and eat a french sandwitch and champagne...lovely place near the "pont neuf", its beautiful all around.
Yes, it's fine. France and other European countries, unlike the U.S., treat adults as adults when it comes to alcohol consumption.

My, what memories this brings back!

Every Sunday afternoon on the Pont des Arts... broken corkscrew? Just ask your picnic neighbor...or the next, or the next...

Dor and I were arrested for NOT having wine with our picnic on the grass while gazing at the Eiffel Tower. The style police swarmed all over us.

Just kidding, but we were the only people drinking water that Sunday afternoon.

A group near us were drinking Amstel from tins, so I did not feel too heathen.
