Well, becasue I was in Paris in early January, so, lol, must now make some money and pay my restaurant bills!!! Even using the Cheap eats book, they stiill mount up! But we're set for three weeks in the UK later this year, and a nice cruise home. So, if you catch me complaining, just tell me to hush up!!! Have a great weekend, wherever you are.

Hi Judyrem,

I'm really excited about this trip. I haven't been to London before and all the ports (Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, 2 days! in St Peterburg, Tallinn, Rostock, and Copenhagen). I'll have 4 nights, 3 days in London - taking a morning flight to London. Have gotten lots of London suggestions from fellow fodorites. When I return, I'll post my journal (will probably be very long) on my web site: http://www.luvtotravel.homestead.com/home.html

MacSporran, I'm in 65 degree F weather, will that do? It still hits 40F at night, but who stays out at night?

Very little rain in the winter, they keep it in the summer (2 inches an hour, some days!).

Northern Florida, paradise in the winter, hell in the summer. Pleasant right now.

House swap? Hmmm... do you live in Scotland or England? If so, let's talk!

No money or time off from work - I'm saving up and will hopefully be there in November. I'm always so jealous of everyone on this board who travels so much...how?! I wish I could!! If I had $$ I'd be in a different country every month...I have so many places I want to go! The only place I've been outside of the US is Jamaica and that was where I got married!

I asked myself this very question this morning when someone sent me her travel pictures of her European road trip. It's been nearly two years since I came home from my big trip.

I haven't been able to go to Europe because I keep going to Australia to visit my boyfriend. Or he keeps coming to visit me. I just negotiated a month off this summer, and of course I will be going to Australia, hopefully to bring the chap "home" for good.

After that, I told him I have to go to Scotland. It's been on the top of my list for the last two years. Or maybe South America/Argentina. Or maybe Croatia again. Or maybe Ireland again...

Arghhhhh...

I am! Reporting in from the Tourist House Ghiberti in Florence. I will post a full report when I get home, but will say that the T.H.G. is a great little spot -- with Internet access in every room.

Because I have to work. But I will be in Europe next month, for 3 weeks.

It is certainly fun to go to Europe, but I also live in a great place - Salvador da Bahia, Brazil.

Because I'm living with and caring for my sick, widowed 81 ear-old mother. I manage to have someone do it full-time while I am away about 4 weeks out of the year, but that's all I can manage (or would really want to) right now.

Foreswore a trip and used money to buy a little home.

But I travel vicariously through people here...and all the books.

I still get to go to the beach every weekend...so life is pretty darned good for me.

But boy-o-boy...I don't think I'm jealous ...just envious. So when I can go, Italy (after all the raves...)?, London is a must see, go to Ireland...
back to France? Nice and Provence...?

Sheesh... but I'm supposed to own a home for my old age... ahem...right?
