Who is on and where are you going?

Hi, this is Stephen from southern Louisiana and my next trip, with wife and child, is to Italy in October-yes the tickets have been bought! We can't wait. Milan, Verona, Venice, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca, Rome, Pompeii and Home. Where is everyone headed?

My husband and I are sending our children (not really!) off to college in September, then taking a long-awaited trip to England and Scotland in late September/early October. My first trip to Europe! Truly, I'm thoroughly enjoying the planning of this trip, with the help of this forum and many, many web sites. Bon Voyage!

Lynn, I will tell you all about Prague and Budapest when we get back! My husband and myself are going there plus Vienna the end of September and will spend 10 nights there. We will leave out of Newark NJ airport on Virgin Airways(long story). We have to switch to a British Airways plane in London to fly to Prague. We will do train travel to the three cities plus one overnight train. We have a pretty long layover in London which we will get out to the center city for about 8 hours. Can't wait. I am now planning for a little time in the Loire Valley perhaps around April 15th!

Just came back from Spain & Portugal. Already booked a December cruise of the Western Caribbean (Aniversary + birthday + Christmas present for both!). Next European trip looks like Oktoberfest 2000 (but I am sure I will sneak out to London on a cheap flight before that!).

The countdown has begun! In less than 3 weeks I leave for Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Budapest, Vienna, and Salzburg. My husband and I will be traveling with my sister, brother in law, and 8 year old niece.

The minute I recovered from the time difference from Italy and my home state I was planning my next trip. I will be going to Spain and Paris Spring 2000. I hope to make in to Singapore based on the airfare sales around Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Hi Stephen

We are off to France at the end of August for a friend's wedding. (She was my high school exchange partner and we got on better than most. Since then Pete and I have visited her and her boyfriend and they us).

We are then spending driving from the wedding straight down for a week in the Loire, for what is also our 5th wedding anniversary...

Can't wait and the help I have found here is invaluable.

I am also now starting to plan a short break to Barcelona (or Krakow second choice) for November this year!

Next year is already mostly planned as we are going on a cruide to Thailand with our 2 best friends after their marriage. We are also repeating for the 4th time a grup holiday to Cornwall/ Devon (26 of us).

Phew!

But isnt the planning almost as great as the going!???

We might just run into you in Italy! Our tentative plans are to fly to Zurich, then head south to Luzern, Venice, Siena, and the Cinque Terre in October. As we make out plans, I'll be interested in hearing where you'll be staying and why, etc. We, too can't wait!!

Dear Stephen: (That seems awfully presumptuous of me--but I thought you'd like to know I DO read the postings.) As I may have told you, last year's cancer surgery-plus-chemo makes me just want to stay home. Unfortunately I won't be getting younger while I do that so who knows when I'll be willing to stuff myself into a transatlantic airline seat again? Talk to you soon though. Joan

Hello Stephen..Your trip sounds great! My husband and I are going to Paris and the Normandy region this September and I was planning Italy for next year but am a bit concerned about the crush of people during 2000 in Italy and the higher prices due to the supply/demand. Are you flying into Milan and out of Rome? I hope you will post about your trip when you get back...Patty

Hi Patty, yes we are flying into Milan and out of Rome. We had planned just the opposite but switched it when we thought we would go in November instead. We thought that might buy us a little better weather traveling north to south but we up and moved the trip to October and just kept Milan first. We may post on return but I feel a little like an imposter poster because there are so many posting who are more informed than I.
This board has been tremendous help in organizing this trip. We can't wait and will have many people to thank for their help! Stephen

Hey Everyone...everyone's travel plans sound fantastic....and just reaing your plans makes me even more EXCITED about my trip. I leav ethe 23rd of August (LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY!!!!!!) for Sicily where I will be staying for 2 weeks. I am going down for my cousin's wedding on teh 3rd and haven't been back now for 8 years...VERY VERY EXCITED. I am also heading up to Rome Venice and Florence for two weeks after that. My sister-in-law lives in Rome and I am so excited to see her as she just got married and unfortunately I was unable to attend. From tehre I am meeting with a good friend who moved to Croatia about 6 montsh ago and we are going to Venice and Florence...and wherever else we feel like along the way.....ANY SUGGESTIONS? We are two 25 year old females looking to realize their dream of travelling to Venice and Florence........

Nicoletta
