Whirlwind Trip (10 days)

I'm planning a short trip during reading week to get to know Europe a bit. (I plan to study there for a year or so.) My plan: (all hyphens representing 1 day)
-London
-Salisbury morning, to Paris for the night
-Paris
-Dijon, south through French mountain range, to Lausanne for the night
-Swiss alps, Zurich overnight
-Black Forest, to Munich overnight

And this is where I need some help. I would like to go to Venice, Milan and Rome in the last 4 days (spending the most time in Rome of course). But I'm wondering if it's feasible to stop and see Neuschwanstein castle going south from Munich. (And still incorporate the stops in Italy.) Thanks!

dear Stars...take a bus tour..really and truly, if you are doing whirlwind, you might as well just get on a bus, let someonee else do the driving...you will see all the usual tourist sights and will not spend any time with connections, hotel check ins ect...you mentioned that this will allow you to get to know Europe..it won't. If you plan to study there, please save your money and use it when you are there for some focused travel or limit this 1 week to 1 place.

I'm sorry, that's not what I meant by "get to know." I should have been more specific. I've done some research and have narrowed it down to 3 cities where I'd like to eventually live. (All in France.) The purpose of the trip is to see these three cities and pick the one I like best. (i.e. atmosphere mostly since they offer pretty much the same amenities.) All other site-seeing activities are a bonus.

So....care to clue us in as to which three cities those might be?

And how does three cities in France relate to your initial question, which had you zooming all over Europe?

If you'll only have four days in Italy, why will Milan be one of your destinations, and why is Rome necessarily (i.e. you said "of course&quot the place where you'll spend the longest portion of this minute period bit of time? Is it possible that what you posted is not quite what you meant to say, becaue it just doesn't all seem too sensible?

OK - assuming you are not a troll, I will try (TRY) to be kind. This is a very, very bad itinerary. (If I were being unkind I would have said it was <b>insane</b

Five countries (and at least 10 cities) in 10 days!?

If your purpose is to get to know a couple of places -- this route certainly won't do it . . . . .
