Which Scotland day tour to choose?

Help me choose

A. Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, Ben Lomond, Highland Village of Luss, Arrochar Alps, Rest and be Thankful, Inveraray Castle (2 hrs), Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe and The Drovers Inn.

or

B. Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, Ben Lomond, Highland Village of Luss, Aberfoyle, Stirling Castle (2 hrs).

Depends -- how long will you be in Edinburgh? If several days -- then Stirling castle is an easy day trip on your own by train. Therefore A would be good.

But if you have limited time and won't be able to do both the coach tour AND Stirling on your own . . . then definitely B. Stirling castle is head and shoulders better than Inveraray. Kilchurn is a neat ruin in a terrific setting but my guess it would only be a 'see' and you wouldn't have time to explore it.

So janisj, should I choose Edinburgh Castle and Edinburgh for the one day I have or take the train to Stirling? For the train can I catch it from both Greenock and South Queensferry?

Greenock? South Queensferry? OK now I am TOTALLY confused. Why are those two even in the equation.

Are you on a cruise?

Before I give any add'l suggestions, need to know what you itinerary is???

Yes, we're on a cruise and we'll have from 8am-5pm time for each of those 2 ports.

Oh - that is ENTIRELY different. You don't have time for anything at all from Edinburgh except for the city center itself. You don't need any sort of tour. You can spend the entire day on the Royal Mile (Castle, St Giles Cathedral, Holyrood Palace and things in between -- plus maybe the fabulous Museum of Scotland. But that will be very rushed.

As for Greenock - If the ship offers the Tour A you posted -- that would be OK.

Janisj-did you choose "A" which doesn't include Stirling because it would be similar to Edinburgh Castle?

No -- I chose A simply because it is closer to Greenock . . .

You simply don't have time to do both tours. So I'd do one tour out of your Glasgow docking (Greenock). And then your time from docking in Edinburgh IMO is much MUCH better spent actually seeing Edinburgh.
