Which Irish airport

Hi All:

The husband and I are taking a little European break next month (March) and thought we would spend a few days in Ireland (a first visit). We will be flying in from London and were considering a these options.

1. Flying into Shannon, renting a car and driving to cliffs of Morh, overnight Limerick then on to Killarney for two nights to see Ring of Kerry and Dingle area (tour bus). Drop car and Fly from Kerry airport to Dublin and spend the rest of our time there.

2. Fly directly into Kerry airport spend two nights with Ring tour, rent car and drive to Dubln seeing sights (Rock of Cashal and Wicklow area in particular) maybe with an overnight (Cork or Kilkenny maybe?) along the way.

I guess the question is: Cliffs of Morh or scenic drive through Cork and Tipperary to Dublin? Since the Cliffs are out of the way no matter which option, are they worth compressing those first couple of days and the drive?

I think we are most interested in seeing some small Irish towns and some of the natural beauty.

Thanks for your help!

Cork airport is also an option. if you only have 2 or 3 nights for Ireland and * nights for Dublin fly into Shannon or Cork have 2 nights for Killarney see Cashel and Cahir then a night in Kilkenny. that way you can do the drive through Wicklow to Dublin.

Cliffs of Mohar is beautiful. Close to Shannon airport. Cashel is a must. Flying to Dublin look at Rick Steves Ireland and you can get more ideas

"look at Rick Steves Ireland and you can get more ideas"

Ask a pet monkey and you get some kind of an answer answer.
There are a host of good well written, well researched guide books covering Ireland that allow you freedom of thought rather than pushing you to where the author wants you to go?
I do like to collect his books though, I have an open fire
