Which Hotel in Paris?

We are going to Paris in mid-May and have found availability at these two hotels, the Hotel Lyon Mulhouse and the Hotel Baumarchais, both in the Marais District. Both are similar in price, although the Hotel Lyon Mulhouse quoted us a better price for a double room (with two double beds). Which hotel do you recommend? I've only been to Paris once before and we stayed in the Opera District. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Sherry,<BR><BR>Any chance you mean bEaumarchais?<BR><BR>as in <BR><BR>http://www.villa-beaumarchais.com<BR><BR>with the "e", there are 49 message threads on this forum, without it, I found none here, nothing on Yahoo! or AltaVista.<BR><BR>Of the various posts you can easily find by searching, this one seems particularly useful:<BR><BR>"Hotel Beaumarchais (Paris) and Hotel Calendal (Arles)" <BR><BR>http://www.fodors.com/forums/messages.cfm?fid=2&amp;tid=1274215&amp;numresponse s=3<BR><BR>I have gotten acquainted with "Heather" who speaks highly of it on this thread - - write her and I feel sure she will answer your questions.<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR><BR><BR>

Hi Sherry,<BR><BR>I've posted a comment twice about the Lyon Mulhouse, if you'll do a search for it, it will probably come up.<BR><BR>We loved it!<BR><BR>Sandy

Sherry:<BR><BR>I've no personnel experience with this, but just ran into this website called 'Vacation Rentals by Owners' and they're offering some interesting accomadations ranging from $100 to $150 per night, with several apts/condos in the Marais District.<BR><BR>I'd love to hear if anyone has rented thru them --- there's several places that sound wonderful for the money.<BR><BR>http://www.vrbo.com/<BR>

WoW! I just got to test the new hyperlink feature of the forum and I love how it works. I also love that site and agree that those apartments look like a great choice. We stayed between Bastille and Republique in a small friendly hotel in 1998. We loved that the area was so residential and pretty much non-touristy. Also spend a lot of time exploring the Marais and would definately consider staying there, especially in a small apartment!

Not to be snippy, but it seems relatively obvious that Sherry is seeking info on the Hotel Beaumarchais (not the Villa B or the Caron de B). I did see the room that Sandy et al. had at the Lyon Mulhouse (2 double beds) and it was large, plus you could hang out the window and see the Bastille column.
