Which hotel in Alesund, Norway??

Hello fellow travelers,

I know this would be a long shot but would anybody out there have any recommendations for hotels in Alesund, Norway.

Which is a good hotel to stay there?
The best? The oldest/newest?

Any information would be great. Thank you.

Hi Peggi,

Would you know if it is at the waterfront?

Frommers did give the Radisson SAS 2 stars and I got a quote from them but I received a much better deal from Scandic Hotel Alesund that the Rough Guide rated as excellent.

So I was just wondering... =)

Tiger_Lily: We stayed at the Comfort Home Hotel Bryggen in 2000. I am sure this is not the best, the oldest or the newest, but you aren't getting any responses, so I thought I would offer it. It is a complete renovation of a turn-of-the-century fish warehouse. Very tastefully done in nautical themes. The rooms are smallish, but very well decorated with great windows and a small balcony which look out over the harbor. The dinning room is very pretty (again, nautical) and they provide a very good breakfast buffet.
We didn't know it until we got there (they don't advertise it), but it turned out to be a Best Western. Still, it was very nice, well located and we enjoyed it very much. Have a great trip.

Thanks, joegri.
I guess there aren't many hotels in Alesund that people would rave about. =p

It must be near the water because every room has some sort of "water view". Again, I haven't been there yet!
