Which area in Sardinia for Santorini lovers

Hi all,

We are a couple travelling to Sardinia in August and are wondering which area in Sardinia could give us a similar experience like imerovigli/Oia in Santorini, where you can have quiet strolls and still enjoy access to great restaurants without renting a car? Also important that the area is not overly crowded (I know, August...).

Thanks,
Daniel

hi!
i think the town of alghero, in north west of the island.
it was founded by spanish and it' s called the little barcelona. it's a nice town, with a romantic historical centre, good restaurants of fish or tipical sardinian food and a lot of nice shops. There' s a big beautiful beach, an airport and a public bus service.
Do you have a booked flight?
you can consider la maddalena island, in the north east. there are beautiful beaches, as caribbean but it's more difficult to go there without a car and maybe it's full of tourists and more expensive than Alghero.

Thanks! I do not have a booked flight yet, that's why I wanted to figure out the destination first.
