Where was your best meal in Paris?

I'm curious. So many wonderful places to eat, so little time.

My favorite meal so far was at Le Coupe Chou in the Latin Quarter. www.lecoupechou.com

I'm with TG on Le Violon d'Ingres, it's a favorite of mine. Each time it's a wonderful value and a wonderful experience.
For a perfect top-of-the-line meal though, I'll add in Le Grand Vefour, but I've only been there once.

Au Petit Marguery--although in years long past, the 1* Burgundian Chez les Anges was absolutely superb. I understand it's re-opening at long last, but under different ownership.

No joke - sitting with my daughter on a clear, crisp fall day at dusk on Le Pont Neuf, drinking wine and eating smoked salmon baguettes with creme fraiche, pate, and quiche from a street market.

What a lovely image, degas. It sounds like it wasn't just about the food, but the setting as well.

I had so many good meals in Paris and I was very irresponsible not to make a note of the names of the restaurants. But one that I do remember was Leon de Bruxelles. I had the Flemish stew, and it was out of this world.

At a friend's house, but the company probably added to the ambiance.

That there Le Coupe Chou place sure looks mighty pretty.

A fella could feel right important eating at such a fine place. No hope for me - I expect the menu would not have a lick of english on it and no pictures either!

What would a meal set you back at such a place?

Opposite le Coupe Chou is le Petit Prince de Paris.

One of the most enjoyable meals I've eaten anywhere, and for an incredibly modest sum. Well worth a visit.

Elaine, isn't it odd that we have the same taste in restaurants?

Grand Vefeur - wonderful food, very nice decoreted interior, very good service.
Reservation required.

There are guides that recommed it as the restaurant with the most beautiful interior in Paris.

Hands down Le Grand Vefour. The food experience of a lifetime. Let me just say, tho, my best meal ever was Les Crayeres in Reims.

I agree with LoriNY that Les Crayeres in Reims was tops, but the chef retired a year ago and I have not been back since to try it out.

Thanks all, for the other ideas. I may give them a go.
