I don't, but here's some suggestions for finding out:
The website for Paestum/Campania has a message board! (Scroll to the bottom of the screen):
http://tinyurl.com/r8rzr
If you are shamless (like me), you'll go ahead and post a query in English, wtih many apologies for not speaking Italian.
Or, you can e-mail the office of public relations:
Ufficio Relazioni con il Pubblico
[email protected]
or try the tourism office:
[email protected]
Here is tourism website for Campania, rich with info and pictures:
http://tinyurl.com/ehg2q
Let us know what you find out.
(I will tell you one thing: If you do a Google search for "Paestum scaffolding" you will find travel reports dating back to 2001 with people reporting that some buildings were under scaffolding.)

We stayed in Sorrento then drove to Rome on our trip last month. It is an easy drive. We stayed at the Hotel Tratamontano(wrong spelling) on the cliff overlooking the Bay. Beautiful. Sorrento has alot to do. Many restaurants, shops etc. Positano is truly beaultiful but less active. We drove easily to Pompeii and Vesuvius. I wouldn't stay in Pompeii. It's not very pretty. Capri is also easy to get to from Sorrento. But really anywhere on the Amalfi coast is wonderful.

We spent a month in Italy in May for our 40th anniversary celebration. Although we decided to splurge because of the occasion we were delighted with the outcome. We decided to book our 5 days in the AC in Positano and were completely satisfied we had made that choice. We did not wish to have a car while there so booked a limo to take us from our Rome hotel, drop us off for 3 hours at Pompei and then return and take us to our Hotel in Positano. It was luxurious and relaxing and mindless. It left us with a free day that we would have had to have forfitted to have gotten back to see Pompei. We stayed at the Poseidon in Positano and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. A little jewel with fabulous views, service, dining and delightful ambience. We visited Ravello,Praino, and Amalfi by city bus and Capri by Jet boat from the beach at Positano. On our departure we had the rental car delivered to our hotel for a very modest additional fee ($26E) and simply drove away to our place in Tuscany. Hope this helps with your plans.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I love the idea of a Limo from Rome to Pompeii and on to Positano and book a car from there to Tuscany. Any suggestions for a limo company? We had planned to stay at Hotel Villa Garden in Sant'Agnello after seeing Pompeii due to time of day and then Positano for 2 nights. But 3 nights in Positano would be better. We had decided on Villa Rosa, but all they have left are 1st floor rooms w/ partial view. So we will check out the Poseidon. Again, thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Lori - There are a number of limo companies which have all been recommended here:
- Positano-based
www.positanocarservice.com
www.flaviogioia.com
www.limocarservice.net
www.benvenutolimos.com (Praiano)
- Sorrento-based
www.tourofitaly.com
www.francescomarrapese.com
www.cuomonet.it
www.seesorrento.com
www.sorrento.it
I suggest you contact them all for comparative quotes (- quotes can vary between € 300-450+ for Rome-Positano with a Pompeii stop).
Positano-Tuscany will be considerably more, of course ...
Have you considered going by train?
Hope this helps ...

Thanks Steve,
We want a limo from Rome to Positano, with a stop in Pompeii and then we'll rent a car in Positano for the Tuscany part of the trip. I'll contact these companies next week.

We took a train from Rome-Naples and had a driver pick us up at the trainstation in Naples & drive us to Positano. On the way, we stopped at Pompeii for a few hours. Our driver was great... go to tourofitaly.com for info.
