Where to stay near Nice
Hi all,
We are looking for a village within half hour or so from Nice to stay. That's me, 40,Hubbie 42,boys aged 8 & 10. We don't particularly want to stay along the coast. Our budget is about 90Euro per nite, and we wanted somewhere authentic and homey. We'll be there from Aug 16 till 20th. I have been scouting around these few days without much luck. We're driving ourselves, so transport not a prob.
I'd really appreciate some personal experiences and advice.
Thanks in advance.

Try the pleasant small town of Valbonne, not far from Grasse. There are quite a few B&Bs in addition to hotels.
In nearby Mouans-Sartoux you might check the B&Bs as well. I don't know how far your 90€ per night (is that for all 4 of you?) will take you, however. Perhaps you should look into a rental apartment. August is high season; some rates go up during that period, as booking pressure is high.

We stayed at a timeshare in Mougin and really loved it. Would be great for a family. We're members of Interval International and got it through them. Not sure if they do private rentals, but might be worth checking out at www.sunterra.com (Club Sunterra at Le Club Mougins)

Thanks, lots everyone! After 3 solid nights of scouring around, we found a 1 bed apt in Mougins, Le club Mougins for £80 per night.
Thanks for the tip,Artlover. And Underhill, I looked in Valbonne, but with either the Euro or the occupancy against me.
I'll do a report of Mougins when I get there.
