Where to stay in Venice and how to get there

Hello. We live in Sevilla and are taking a cruise out of Venice soon. We're flying into the Marco Polo Airport. Where should we stay in Venice the night before the cruise? It will be me, my husband, my 9 month old baby and my parents. Also, what is the best way to get from the airport to our hotel and from our hotel to the cruie ship? Thanks for the help!

Hi Dejah - Your best bet would probably be to stay near Piazzale Roma (- only a couple of minutes from the port by taxi or shuttle bus).

Piazzale Roma can be reached from the airport by Airport Shuttle bus (€ 3)- or by taxi (- approx € 30)

For bus details see:
http://www.atvo.it/eng/airport.php?l...id=0&var=v

These hotels are all in the Piazzale Roma area:

You might find this link useful for other hotels in that area:

For info re the shuttle bus to the port from Piazzale Roma go to:

Hope this helps ...

I called the hotels listed by Steve. They all seem very nice, but a little pricy. Has anyone stayed at any other hotels near the Piazzale Roma? I am looking at Hotel Moderno, Hotel Stella, Hotel Airone and Hotel Nazionale. I know they are probably not as nice, but the rates are much lower. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Dejah - How much do you want to spend? You might find hotels in Mestre cheaper just for a one-night stay.

Mestre is convenient from the airport -and would only be 10 mins by taxi to the port.
