There used to be a man at BudgetEuropeTravel.com, named Bob. He was an expert on train trips in that region.
I think he called it the Ligne Digne (sp?)-- a route to consider for train travel inland and coastal near Nice. He was very helpful in describing the towns. You can call their 800 number. Their prices are good, if you want to buy tickets in advance.
They helped me sort out Vienna-Prague-Munich by train.

3Xmom, we spend about a month a year in that area. There's only so much sightseeing that our kids tolerate, we mix it with beach days.
The stretch of beach outside of Antibes towards the Cap has beautiful views towards Nice, and is walking distance to the old town. It's a free, public beach.
Juan les Pins is definitely not as pretty as a town, but still has that long sandy beach and it's very lively; much more so than Antibes, for teenagers. You can eat right on the beach, with your feet in the sand. The Pinede area of Juan is best.

Thanks Tabernash2! Another great bit of help. It's hard to believe how many people out there help out other travelers. I'm going to see if anyone needs help for my area-Calgary and Banff Canada.

mom, St Jean Cap Ferrat (sp?) is a tiny little spot down the hill from the Villa Ephrussi. We took a city bus from Nice to the Villa, toured it, and walked down to St Jean. It's a cute little place. You can take the city bus back to Nice from there.
