I want to thank everyone here for all your responses. Your posts gave the nerve to go ahead and try priceline. I was prepared for the worst, but got what I wanted. I bid $90 for Kensington area, got rejected. Added Westminster area for $95 ($911 for 8 nights) and got HI Kensington Forum. I am so happy!! I almost booked HI Bloomsbury through the hotel for $1800 before I found this site. This means we have lots more money to spend on fun stuff when we get there.
Thank you all so much!!

I am glad for everyone getting the HI! We enjoyed it last year. This year, we had a B&B for 4 nights, but then Pricelined one night at the end of the stay and got the Copthorne Tara (ick). I was hoping for the HI - but at least it was only one night, and it was an area new to me as far as location.

Canon, I know you'll be happy with the HI and you'll be even happier with the $ you saved once in London.
Adrienne, I can't list any specific restaurant/pub,club but there are a lot of choices. Maybe one of the Londoners on this board can advise you.
