Where to stay in Cinque Terre

We are travelling from Florence area to Cinque Terre. Any suggestions as to where to stay? Another other suggestions about the area?

Hi Dawnchaps,
We stayed in Vernazza and loved it. We stayed here http://www.albergobarbara.it/camere.html

We really enjoyed taking the boat from town to town. The view of the towns from the ocean is great.

Two tips: be sure to pack light as there are stairs everywhere in the CT and be sure to get your ticket stamped PRIOR to boarding the train that goes from town to town, as the police are VERY STRICT about enforcing this rule. We saw someone get fined heavily for not doing this.

Another vote for Manarola-

loved staying 3 days in tiny rooftop apartment with private terrace and gorgeous views- very reasonably priced- Casa Capellini- there are reviews and pics on Tripadvisor

although there is a VERY steep walk from train station to apartment!

In the Cinque Terre area try and visit Portovenere (can be reached by boat) it is beautiful. We stayed there and loved it but its a bit of a trek to the Five Towns from there.

Another vote for Manarola and La Torretta. Just keep in mind that Manarola is quieter and less busy than a town like Vernazza...so it depends what you are looking for. We loved it.
cheers,
