Where to go after Barcelona

We will be spending 5 days in Barcelona in November. We have 3 more days to spend somewhere else. We have considered the Penedes wine region and the Costa Brava. We enjoy good food, good wine, and love finding interesting towns and places to stay. We will have a rental car. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? Thanks!!!

5 days in Barcelona is alot!! Get a guide bood and see. It's not a tourist town like London or Paris. If I were you, I'd go to Seville or Madrid. Really, only 1 day in Barceelona is quite enough.

We are set on Barcelona. I have read many guidebooks and have no problem finding lots of things I want to do and see in Barcelona. We plan to do a Madrid/Seville trip at a later time.

I also spent five nights in Barcelona this year, I coupled it with four nights in Bilbao.

I spent 5 nights in Barcelona and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Whilst the question of whether it's too little, sufficient or too much time does depend on your preferred travel style and what you like to see and do I definitely think 1 day is NOT enough.

How about the Balearics?

I think 5 nights in Barcelona is perfect. We were there 4 and didn't have a chance to get to the Parc Guell. We spent the next three days in Llafranc on the Costa Brava, but we were there in the summer and spent time at the beach. Perhaps since you are going in November, you could see the wine region or fly to Madrid for three nights.

I'm not sure what to suggest as each time I've been to Barcelona I run out of time!
We've been 5 times for 4-5 each time and we discover (very casually) more on every visit - that's what I love about the place.
Have a look at this site - What's on -

Enjoy your trip!

Barcelona is a wonderful vibrant city and 5 days is certainly not too much, especially if you are an art and achitecture lover. There is much to see and experience, plus if you are into Food, there are wonderful places to eat. I have not explored the Costa Brava, but that would be an interesting change after Barcelona, and a different dynamic then a city. I would try to find out some key places to visit on the Costa Brava since you will be so close.

I'm glad there are many more out there who feel that 5 days is an enjoyable length of time to spend in Barcelona. We certainly could have stayed another day or two...

You will love Barca! I lived in Bilbao and Salamanca for a year and a half year respectively and saw almost all of Spain. Barca was my favorite until visiting San Sebastian. Completely different world from the rest of Spain. The Basque region has the absolute best food in Spain and the most beautiful coastline. This is where the King vacations when not in the Baleares, however it is by no means pretentious. Lovely old center. Plan at least a full day if you are unable to stay the night. Keep in mind, it is fairly rainy in the north during this time and that includes Barcelona.
