Where to buy inexpensive hair appliances in France
I do have a dual voltage hair dryer but also like to use a hair iron and haven't yet found a professional one that is dual voltage. Have taken a converter but it has been suggested that it would be easy to purchase one in France for use there. Last trip I looked but any I saw were very expensive compared to Cnd prices. Any suggestions as to where I could purchase a good quality dryer and hair iron without spending a small fortune. Am going to St.Martin at Xmas and will check there but things are imported so tend to be pricier.

You can purchase them at Darty with stores all over France. www.darty.com. In Paris, one of their large stores is in the Forum des Halles. You can also check out the department stores like Printemps or Monoprix. Darty will refund the difference if you find it somewhere else for less.

I was going to suggest Monoprix, also, where I saw a couple of different models of curling irons, but NOWHERE in Europe have I ever been able to find the fat-barrel curling irons that we have back here. If anyone knows of a brand or place to buy, plz reply.

Anon, I found just what I want in terms of size, etc., on the site you mentioned, but it doesn't say anything about dual voltage on the site. I can call them but just wondered if you knew that all of them are, in fact, dual voltage, since that seems to be the bottom line with Linda's and my request? Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the helpful tips; went to the last website mentioned and they have what I'm looking for: the WIGO European 3" flat iron 170 watts and dual voltage. BUT they don't ship outside the USA and they don't have an 800 number... But now that I know they exist I will try large beauty supply outlets in Toronto or check out a Sally's when I go to NY state next week...or ask my stylist if he can get me one through his suppliers. Darty looks interesting so there's another possibility and when I'm in St.Martin at Xmas I can go looking in salons and hair supply stores on my daily walks. Thanks again to all.
