Where Should Will and Kate Honeymoon?

Can Fodor's Forum readers come up with a list of uber-resorts for the honeymoon of a lifetime? As of now, rumor says the royal superstars, Prince William and his lovely Kate, are headed for a week on the Scilly Isles (where there are more sheep than people). We think that's okay to catch the royal breath, but what about another week at one of our suggested resorts. These would not only need to be beautiful places, and perfect for memories-in-the-making, but they also would put a premium on privacy. One example? Il San Pietro, a hotel which is ensconsced on its own cliff high above the crowds (and paparazzi!) that jam Positano, and set on a bluff with an angel's view of the Amalfi Coast. Fabulous islands, exotic resorts, glamorous estates: Can we come up with a list of spectacular getaways that are custom-made for their royal honeymoon? There's still time to send our recommendations to Windsor Castle!

A week at Pontins in Skegness perhaps? Seriously though, I could hardly care less as long as it doesn't cost impoverished UK taxpayers like me.

How about the Tower of London where at least one can lose a head.

I'd be willing to do a couple of week's house trade, if they're interested.

Hey, come on! Can't we skip the mean comments? Those two royal lovebirds deserve a break. He's posted in the armed forces now for Britain, working hard for his country, and she'll be joining the rest of the Windsors and going to a thousand public events (community center openings, etc.) as a daily job. Can't they enjoy a wonderful honeymoon? And can't Fodor's travel veterans be just the crowd to come up with some great suggestions for them?

Bob f - my apologies but you should have clearly said in the OP that this was only a serious Q and you only wanted positive responses - normally folks who post such a question are doing it not out of love for the royals but inviting sarcasm - so folks like me who despise the doltocracy as I call them naturally respond like what you consider jerks.

If you had said only wanted positive comments I would not have responded. So I sincerely regret my comments but did not know the requisite type answers you wished.

so I hope I and others who love to ridicule the royals will keep quiet.

My apologies.

Robert_F --- you've been introduced to a couple of our favorite Fodorites. Now you know what we have to deal w/ from stilldontknow and PQ

But to actually answer you question -- I'd think somewhere in Kenya (or somewhere else in Africa) since that is where he proposed and because of his close connection w/ various charities/programs there

Mean comments? Moi? Never. I'm a Royals semi-fan. I'm even inviting my girlfriends over for a Royal Wedding Breakfast on the 29th.

You'll get some good serious responses, Robert_F, but lighten up a bit, honey. You can't post a question like this without expecting a little razzing.

Bates Motel-Palermo

Lighten up Robert, its the Royals. People who need medals to keep their pants up and ride around in carriages.

If they are really interested in what we have to say let them use the name Royalnewbies.

Same thing I answered on Facebook - Sir Richard Bramson's private island in the Caribbean - Nekkid , I mean Necker Island. Even the name is perfect for a honeymoon.

Well I say they should at least get out of Europe. So I'm going with the answers to this same question on the Caribbean forum, Middle East, and so on.

Robert F, if you wanted serious answers, you would be better served posting this (lame) question on tripadvisor.

How about Gibraltar - putting the Home Office between a Rock and a Hard Place - with Spain no doubt creating a no fly zone over the Rock and William the Conqueror coming to aid locals due to his military prowess.
