I was born, raised and schooled in Virginia. I've lived all over the east coast following my husband around in his pursuit of higher education and I now live in the Boston area, which I dearly love. A few years ago we had a chance to relocate to the UK for a 3-year stint but we didn't take the opportunity. It seems silly now that we didn't but at the time it made sense.

Hey Michelle, we leave next week for Barbados, too! And then a week after that I'm taking my Mom to London and Paris. Can't wait!!

P.S. Note to I'mReadyTo: Friends are housesitting while we're in Barbados and hubby is staying home while I'm galavanting around Europe (and he's big, burly and mean!! <grin>

Born in the midwest of the US, left as soon as possible (sorry!) to go to CA where we reside in Capistrano Beach. But every beach is different- we've enjoyed visiting beaches of almost all of the Hawaiian islands, France, Italy, and this summer Spain!

I'm an American living in Shanghai, China, and this post reminded me of a joke:

A young man from an "old money" family from the Northern United States fell in love with a beautiful Southern girl.

This relationship was frowned upon by his family, and the girl had received a very cold welcome into their home for her first visit. Over dinner, she was struggling to make conversation with some of the very snobbish ladies at the table. Turning to the woman next to her, she asked: "So, where y'all from?"

The woman replied, icily, "I'm FROM where one doesn't end a sentence in a preposition."

Determined not to make the same mistake, the girl rephrased her question: "So, where y'all from, bitch?"

Born, raised and living in San Jose Ca. Somewhere along the line the name changed to Silicon Valley. I sure miss the orchards but that's progress. In spite of the high prices, traffic and lack of electricity/gas, I enjoy living here. Shows what a nut I really am!!

I currently live in the San Francisco Bay area.

But to be honest, most of my memories live in Idaho, where I grew up. My mouth lives in France but visits Mexico every few years; my eyes live in the Berner Oberland region of Switzerland, right at the top of the Jungfrau, although they vacation at Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne; my feet live in Hawaii; and my ears live in Manhattan. It's pretty tricky to be me!
