Where is Scarlett?

I haven't seen Scarlett on Fodor's in a long time. Is everything okay with her? She has always been so helpful in her posts.

She posts once in a while on the Lounge but not as frequently as she did before. She is getting ready to move from Portland to Buenos Aires so she is quite busy these days!

Yes, she is just busy right now. We had lunch yesterday, so I can say she is alive and kicking

Thanks everyone. It seems as though some of the best posters (Elaine for example) seem to disappear. I was worried. How interesting moving from Portland to Buenos Aires.

Scarlett is with us, posts mostly in the lounge as she packs for her new life. Elaine has not disappeard but joined Sally in starting travelerstogo and they are doing very well. Sally the shrimp still posts here now and then. We all miss the old posters. The banning really was a big mistake here.
but luckily we got some back not afraid to say who they are like Patrick and John(thin) and anyoe else who wants to come out of the banned-et

Madison!! Hi, I am here
How sweet of you to notice my absence..some people just breathe a big sigh of relief LOL.

Yes, we decided to move to Buenos Aires, we leave in April. Next week we go to Los Angeles, in between the shopping, packing, planning, and reading and posting on Fodors Latin America and TripAdvisors Buenos Aires forums, I am working with a realtor online.

Ha..mms...alive and kicking, that's me
Mimi

Thank you for asking

cigalechanta, Suze and everyone else thank you for your replies.

Scarlett, glad to hear from you. What an adventure - moving to another country.

Yes, it is sad that so many of the older posters are no longer with Fodors. They brought such life to the boards.

"Yes, it is sad that so many of the older posters are no longer with Fodors. They brought such life to the boards." [Emphasis added.]

I'm looking for a substitute for the adjective here. "Seasoned," perhaps? "Legendary," maybe? "Old guard" might even work.

Until I see Scarlet in one of those commercials featuring delightful 100-year-olds, I'm not going to risk calling her "older."

WOW Scarlet, THAT is a move! I haven’t been on the Fordor's board much recently, so I missed this.

Wishing you the best on this exciting move. I remember your post on your trip to Buenos Aires, how much you loved it, and how it made ME consider Buenos Aires as a destination … I must find your trip report and enjoy it again .

I am SO excited for you dear lady. I will be checking the SA board for your updates.

Warmest regards … Ger

Gee, Scarlett, sorry I didn't get to meet you on any of my trips to Portland. I still hope someday to move back to the area.

I too, have wondered where some of the 'longtime' posters are. I'm realizing I was reading this board when I planned our 2001 trip to Ireland.

Hi Everyone,

When I said "Older" posters I meant those that have been on Fodor's for such a long time and have contributed so much.

Mary Fran I like your thought of "Lengendary" instead of older.

I'm a bad fodorite who reads alot but doesn't post enough (short trips yes, long trips I never write up! Bad for me and for others... anyway...)

What's the lounge? I had a fodorite I met up with in Florence tell me a lot of posters had gone somewhere else, but dealing with a family illness I never took note of where it was... Not that I want to leave here, just curious!

Mary Fran, in the words of the immortal Satchel Paige, "Age is a question of mind over matter--if you don't mind, it don't matter!"

Cheers,

travelphile, it you click on talk, you will see the list of foruums. One is the lizard, oops fodors lounge, where you can talk about anything, and trust me they do. It's fun, enjoyable til politics, religion, race raises an ugly head or some troll tries to spoil the fun.

Scarlett - I have to ask, what made you decide to move to Buenos Aires?

One more thing about 3 years ago I had posted that I had met a man in London and wanted to know if his intentions were honorable or did he have other motives. (gigolo) YOU were one of the few that gave such kind responses. Some of the others were brutal.

Incidentally, I am still in contact with him and my bank account is still intact.
