Hi,<BR>Tonight I was informed that for my birthday in March-I will be taken on a trip.<BR> I am to think of where I would like to go. Paris and London and Italy have been mentioned.I think we will keep it in Europe.<BR>Question is-<BR>what would Cornwall be like at the end of March?<BR>and what is Venice like then?<BR>I know, very different but very appealing to me right now.<BR>Thanks for any thoughts you might have.<BR>

Scarlett: Congratulations!!! <BR><BR>I imagine Cornwall would be pretty blustery that time of year. Venice might be nice, but Venice is nice any time of year.<BR><BR>How about Portugal? It should be fairly warm, it's pretty cheap, and you probably, if you're like me, wouldn't pick it as a destination on a normal basis. But I think it's worth using a "free" trip for.

TWO WEEKS!! YESSS!! Plenty of time for bath products shopping, Katie Scarlett!!<BR><BR>Betsy has just widened the field!<BR><BR>And St. Cirq certainly has wisdom. Scarlett certainly does not need blustery winds, no no.<BR><BR>Sooooo...if you can get Lush in Venice (and possibly somewhere in Portugal) then that gives you added benefit to think of (AHHH!!) warmer climes. YAY!

If you love gardens,Cornwall is in its very best at the end of March and early April.<BR><BR>Because of Golf Stream,the weather is much milder than the rest of England. Imagining in some area, there are even palm trees and tree ferns. There are more than dozens of huge old gardens,many of them more than hundred years old. <BR><BR>Rhododendrons,Camellias,primoses and blue-bell woods are in fullest blooms;wild flowers along the coastal paths and rolling green hills,it is a little paradise with so few tourists.

jc, Thank you SO much! I knew about the palm trees, but still thought that winter hung on for a little longer and the wind would really be blowing!<BR>OK, that put Cornwall back on the list<BR>And you described it so well~

Hi Scarlet,<BR>I just like to throw in Switzerland and/or Austria. I love both. I imagine you probably can find Lush in both of them. If any thing better than Lush exists (I don't believe it does), you would find it in Switzerland!!!<BR><BR>The only thing is that both countries can be a bit cold in March.<BR><BR>Have fun (I think planning the trip is half the fun!).<BR><BR>Annie<BR><BR><BR>

Cornwall could very well be blustery in March but is usually mild - ie 10-12 degrees C. Good for cliff walks. July and August is peak season.<BR><BR>Venice could be cold or warm at that time of year but, as someone else pointed out, has city charms anyhow.<BR><BR>If you fancy Cornwall, have you considered County Kerry in SW Ireland? As mild as Cornwall and with the same windswept beaches but with mountains up to 1000m which may have a touch of snow too and some awesome pubs if the weather is poor (which it will be). The "Ring of Kerry" is out of this world.

Into Florence for 3 days, then by train to Venice for 4 days, then by air (or train via the Lakes/Milano) to Paris for 5 days. More romantic, interesting visually and emotionally, better food and wine, and new territory for gathering new feelings and memories. Shoot for distant horizons, vice the familiar, and enjoy your amazing experience.
