We returned from london on June 4th (our first trip) and stayed at the Parkes Hotel in Knightsbridge. It is on a lovely steet around the corner from Brompton Rd., but the area the hotel is located in is very quiet. We never heard anything. The rooms are quite spacious and beautifully appointed with fabulous linens - also air conditioning. They have great bathrooms, a touch on the small side, but, all marble, with fantastic showers and lovely moulton brown products. This is a small boutique hotel 3 blocks from Harrods and the tube and Hyde Park, which we loved. We walked everywhere, though. However, this, along with Covent Garden, are wonderful locations for doing almost anything. Both locations offer great restaurants and shopping. The staff at the Parkes are very friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast, also. As far as being convenient, that will depend on what you want to do. We chose Knightsbridge because most people that we spoke to viewed it as being one of the most central locations to everything or at least convenient to a tube station, which it definately is. I would absolutely stay there again. Go to www.trip advisor.com to see the many reviews. Everyone who has stayed there gives it a "five out of five." Also, they offer special packages from time to time so you should check that out. Have a wonderful trip - London is fabulous.

Well ,well then. If you were to ask me I'd have to say, ahem, anywhere near the tube.
