I sent a email requesting Saturday May 20th, they replied that it was too early, and to request booking April 26.
So I guess I will just have to wait...

I just bought tickets for the Borghese on June 28th through www.tickitaly.com. You have to pay an extra 3 Euros per ticket to go through them. Also, they said that from May 19th to August 27th, there will be a special Raphael exhibit so they add another 4 Euros onto the ticket for that. I don't see the Raphael exhibit mentioned on the Borghese website yet. After I ordered the tickets from Tickitaly, it took about 10 days to get the Voucher which must be submitted to the box office to get the tickets.

Hope this helps.

I guess we should have known- It's April 26 and you still can't book for tickets for May.

Travelfunky:

Go through [email protected] to get your Borghese reservatioins. I did it for May 4 several days ago, and it worked.

As for the website, Italians are notoriously nonchalant about deadlines.

There seem to be a minimum of four ways to make reservations -- through the Website, email, phone, and independent ticketing agencies. If one is not working, you have at least three other options. You'll probably get through with one of them.

For those of you who requested tickets to the Borghese Gallery by e-mail, how long did it take to get a response? Also, did you have to send them your credit card info, or do you pay when you pick up the tickets? Thanks!

Gstove:

I e-mailed for my Borghese tickets and got a reply confirming my date and time the next day. No credit card was needed. They just told me to get there a half hour before the designated time and recited the usual rules of the road about no food, no cameras, etc. Very convenient.

Via telephone, they just give you a confirmation number that you present at the ticket office when you pay for your ticket 30 minutes before the designated time.

It has been 4 days since I requested my reservation. Does it usually take that long to get an answer?

It's been a few days since I sent my reservation request. I got a confirmation of my request, but not a confirmation of my reservation. I have read elsewhere that it can take up to a week for the reservation confirmation.

May Day was a holiday in Italy. So if you requested it four days ago, they've only had one day back at work.

Eloise - You're ahead of me. I sent my request 4 days ago and didn't get a confirmation of my request. Think I should send again? Maybe wait until Friday? Our departure is approaching quickly!

I got a reservation confirmation this morning...May day explains why it took a little longer.

They are just trying to make me crazy. I want to visit on June 1st. Several weeks ago I emailed and they said to email back the second week of May. So yesterday I emailed and they said to email next week. Of course, they are CLOSED the 15th-18th.
