Still loving this thread. Cannot believe the reports of how cold it is in Newfoundland and Edmonton! Keep safe and warm there, folks.

Here in the SF bay area we keep thinking we see spring around the corner, then there's a few days of cold, cold (to us anyway). I know it's coming soon, but we are in for rain this weekend. It has been beautiful and clear and somewhat warm over at the coast. It's true when they say that summer has the worst weather for the Northern California coast - fall, winter and spring always surprisingly nice. I just had a lovely bowl of homemade corn chowder (for breakfast) and soon my seven year-old daughter and I are going to the SF-MOMA. She wants to see squiggily paintings. Gotta love the teacher work day!

Like Elwood, I'm in Edmonton -AKA the Big Cube(not Kube). I'm in the market for a second-hand Federation transporter in good condition, so I can get to and from work without setting foot (or any other portion of my anatomy) out the door. Beam me up, Scotty!
ja
Unlike ja and elwood, I'm not feeling those icy temperatures. I'm near Toronto and I'm experiencing -1 temps tonight and with the windchill it is -8. Not too bad for a Canadian winter I would say. Much warmer than I can remember for the month of January.

To all of you who are residing in warm locales....Enjoy the lovely weather....and for those who are burying under the covers....we can at least dream of sunny holidays to come!

Good evening from New Orleans. It was a cool breezy day, around 54 degrees. We'll have great weather for the weekend and the Mardi Gras parades which are now really starting up. Tomorrow we are going to the Krewe Of Barkus Parade downtown. It is for dogs and their owners to benefit the SPCA. The dogs dress up to a theme and it is well attended. When I tell my friends back in CA about it, they think I am making it up!
