flanneruk, Unless I am missing something, the Travelcard 2 for 1 doesn't cover the vast majority of things my daughter wants to do. It has a handful of useful discounts at the moment. If there isn't a 2 for 1 discount, I fail to see the harm in getting a few pounds/euros off with a student discount.

Flanneruk - not to worry, we did indeed make use of the 2 for 1 offers as well (I've been lurking on these boards long enough to know that!) but there were places like Westminster Abbey and the London Walks tours (the ones we went on weren't covered by the 2 for 1 offers) where my student ID saved 2-3 pounds. Best of both worlds!
