OK young ladies...if you want the "eye candy" you'll miss because those hangig out guts are spoiling your "view" and you aren't faint-hearted, go here for the swimwear of all time...

www.koalaswim.com

oh and please, this is NO laughing matter and you can dispense with the "cover-ups" too, LOL

jscha, since you are staying where you are your worries are nil. Everyone will be a tourist except the staff. You are far from any town so you can wear what you want. I would still wear sandals and a coverup unless you want to strut your stuff. I am sure the professional staff will be kind to you even if they find out you are American, lol.

Lawchick: Love your list. So true.

Now what's the deal with all these orange people I see walking around Switzerland (and the rest of Europe)? Is orange peel skin the latest craze?

Yuck!

The only cats I've seen are the ones that poop in my garden. Gotta link?

I live just a half hour away but have never heard of the cat fur trade. Not saying there isn't one but if there is, it's being well-hidden. And I have yet to see those hats.

Maybe it's more in the French part of Switzerland since that's where the report seems to come from.

Now back to the beach.

The beaches are stony on the Amalfi Coast so I take jellies to wear when swimming, as otherwise getting in & out of the sea is a bit painful. (If you don't know what I mean, google on 'jelly shoes'.) I've seen Italian men wearing diving-style neoprene (? wetsuit-type material) shoes.

I usually take a beach dress or long light skirt or sarong to wear over my swimming costume en route to & from the beach & when going to lunch.

As for the cats, have you read the publishing date of the article???

Yes, back to the beach.

Lawchick, your FKK description is very precise. I see them in front of me.
I had a look at some pictures of them Red Hills of Dakota. You think I should be able to recognize you on a crowdy beach?

As for Dukey's outfit, it seems more like a fish bait than anything else... dangerous!

An April Fool's joke! Good thinking Baldrick. My husband's uncle is no longer under suspicion.

That Swiss cat article was in the New YorkTimes..I don't think they have enough sense of humor to write April Fool's stories. But then what do I know??

Yes but I don't get it..are you saying that you think the whole thing is a joke? Do they really kill pet cats in Switzerland? I have to admit that I am always the last one to get a joke..

Hmm... I'm not sure if it's an April Fool's joke or not. But I'm also not sure about the research behind the article.

I've not heard of this practice here and it has not made national news. I'll let you know if I hear more.

Yes, please let me know..

I still find it difficult to believe that the staid NY Times would publish that if it were not based on some kind of fact... Thanks, Schuler!

I've never heard anything on that here in the French part. Seems ludicrous enough. This would be a national scandal if true.
