OK young ladies...if you want the "eye candy" you'll miss because those hangig out guts are spoiling your "view" and you aren't faint-hearted, go here for the swimwear of all time...

jscha, since you are staying where you are your worries are nil. Everyone will be a tourist except the staff. You are far from any town so you can wear what you want. I would still wear sandals and a coverup unless you want to strut your stuff. I am sure the professional staff will be kind to you even if they find out you are American, lol.

I live just a half hour away but have never heard of the cat fur trade. Not saying there isn't one but if there is, it's being well-hidden. And I have yet to see those hats.
Maybe it's more in the French part of Switzerland since that's where the report seems to come from.
Now back to the beach.

The beaches are stony on the Amalfi Coast so I take jellies to wear when swimming, as otherwise getting in & out of the sea is a bit painful. (If you don't know what I mean, google on 'jelly shoes'.) I've seen Italian men wearing diving-style neoprene (? wetsuit-type material) shoes.
I usually take a beach dress or long light skirt or sarong to wear over my swimming costume en route to & from the beach & when going to lunch.

As for the cats, have you read the publishing date of the article???
Yes, back to the beach.
Lawchick, your FKK description is very precise. I see them in front of me.
I had a look at some pictures of them Red Hills of Dakota. You think I should be able to recognize you on a crowdy beach?
As for Dukey's outfit, it seems more like a fish bait than anything else... dangerous!

Hmm... I'm not sure if it's an April Fool's joke or not. But I'm also not sure about the research behind the article.
I've not heard of this practice here and it has not made national news. I'll let you know if I hear more.
