We have booked a self drive canal boat for a week Loosdrecht/Amsterdam/Edam etc in early October
We have four days four nights nights left after the trip before we fly back home. Suggestions as to where to go, what to see appreciated

I thought that by posting in the Netherlands section that trhis would suffice. However, I will take your advice and try to reach a wider audience.
PS Currently I am putting together an article for publication on planning your vacation using the internet. This includes favoured sites, and this is one that I favour!

mccamish, You can't really post in the "Netherlands" section. The country choices in the box by the search window are to help you narrow your search. For example, you can search the word "hotels" and then click on Italy to eliminate other countries from your search. You'll only get threads on Italian hotels.

For posting questions, everything goes into the European Forum and it covers Europe in toto. (Hmm, wasn't that Dorothy's dog?) At any rate, that's why it's a good idea to name a city or country in the title of your post.
