What to do in Dublin

I need some suggestions regarding where to go and stay in Dublin. This will be my first time there and I need some help. I'm taking advantage of the cheap flights on Aer Lingus and planning a trip in January or February. Also, how cold will it be at that time? Thanks!

Not too cold, Ireland doesn't have extreme weather. But you should bring waterproof clothes! re staying in Dublin: depends on your budget and what kind of accommodation you like (e.g hotels, b+bs etc). There's alot to see and do in Dublin, but it might also be worth taking a trip to the West or the South if you want to have a relaxing visiting. Bear in mind though that alot of tourist sites (esp. outside of Dublin) may be closed in the winter, and also the evenings get dark around 4-4.30
Things to do in Dublin: lots of theatres, music, pubs and galleries/museums and churches of historic interest- depends on your own interests

Take the city tour bus. I would recommend going completely around the city to get an idea of where everything is, then use its on and off feature to get off and see those places that interest you - Book of Kells, Guiness brewery, etc

Another vote for the city tour bus. I was last there in 91 so my info could be outdated but I found the bus to be very helpful. It was nice to just walk around Phoenix Park as well.

Spent some time in a Modern Art Museum - sorry I can't place the actual name. It had just opened apparently when we went. It was a lovely detour as well.

Enjoy!

Another vote for the National Museum... it makes sense that the is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, when this buried treasure is amazing... old and amazing! Have a grand time.
